Hello!
My name is Cindy. In my real life, I’m a corporate accountant. Boring, right? Well I love numbers and my job. I also love my boss and my coworkers. Besides that I live in Colorado, so fun and adventure await me right in my own backyard.
I’ve loved to travel for as long as I can remember. Of course as a child our vacations consisted of family trips to visit relatives in other states. I even spent a night in the cellar with my family during a tornado at my Auntie Em’s in Storm Lake, Iowa. The next morning somebody had put “Gone With the Wind” on the destroyed drive-in’s marquee. A vacation to be remembered.
The day after high school graduation, my friend Jeanne and I took off on a trip and vowed to travel at least yearly from then on out. Although we didn’t make it every year, we still travel together after all this time. I also have an adventurous husband, John, that travels the world with me as well as friends willing to make memories together in fun destinations.
I’m definitely hooked. I enjoy seeing new places and meeting new people. To interact with people in their own environment, living their daily life can teach us a lot. What you learn can change you. I like to trek off the beaten path but I also want to see the tourist attractions. Maybe not the biggest ball of yarn, but those that are based on historical significance or unparralelled beauty.
I’ll never be a full time traveler as I love my home. I love hosting large family events and entertaining friends. I love having a great place to come back to after having been away for a while. After all, there’s no place like home. But again, I have a deep passion for travel and will continue to do so as long as I can. I’m the one who counts down the days to my next adventure or weekend getaway.
I’ve been to over 40 countries and have traveled by cruise, both ocean and river, by motorcycle, by truck pulling a fifth wheel toy hauler which sometimes contains said motorcycle (or containing an ATV or bicycles), and motorhome, as well as train, airplane and automobile. I’ve been on organized tours as well as trips where the next stop is only determined by a need for rest. I’ve explored on my own with or without research but I’ve also enlisted local guides for a deeper insight into some destinations.
I hope to offer those visiting this site, who plan to travel to the places I’ve been, a few tips or hints. For every trip I take, there are things I would definitely recommend. Other trips have some things I wish I’d done differently. I also want to share stories and photos to entertain other travelers and inspire people to leave their comfort zone and see our beautiful planet.
